  • magnet dimensions for burns trisonics

have spent days googling and the best I could come up with are some photos of dismantled pickups

does anyone know what the dimensions of the magnet in this pickup should be?... either 60's or modern reissues will be fine

    thanks in advance

There must be different versions with different magnet types.
I saw one using a bar magnet.
This video makes a bobbin for the round pole magnets.
Maybe this will shed some light on it.

      thanks terry

yes I have seen that video, i will make the wrapped coil like the original instead
the 60's orginals has two shorter ceramic bar magnets placed side by side
I believe the current burns ones have a one piece isotropic ceramic magnet
kent armstrong made some with alnico 2
Duncan made them too in limited qty, and they are nothing like the original, they have a magnet with black plastic flanges top and bottom forming a bobbin of sorts. I have a Duncan here, but cant measure the magnet as I don't want to destroy it... I paid too much for them a few years ago

i was hoping someone had pulled one apart to rewind it.........I guess I will have to make a rough guess
