  • Strat bridge bobbin height

Does anyone ever make a strat set with a bridge pickup bobbin height that is lower than 11mm? Would it fatten it up at all or is it a bad idea? Most sets i've seen all have the same height. I suppose the bridge brightness is what makes the position 2 sound so quacky so it could probably mess that tone up if it was darker.

    thanks

you can always take a tap off the bridge pickup for the quack in 4 and have added turns for a fatter bridge only sound

Yes I've made them different heights.
I wouldn't shrink it much, I prefer to overwind it, and scatter it.
Overwinding it will also fatten it up.
RWRP also helps give it that quack sound when in pos. 2 & 4.
