Some Firebird parts arrived today Really looking forward to trying these out.
Would appreciate any advice you might have for a vintage spec wind. I'm interested in the bright & dynamic originals not the later high-output pickups.
I haven't wound these before and information is hard to find. So far all I've got is 4250 turns of plain enamel wire per coil with expected resistance ~7k total. Is this a good ball park to start from?
I thought I'd begin with a little less than this on the neck, maybe 3900-4000, and a bridge pickup maybe 4400-4500, if that sounds sane?
Will be using A2 magnets and have the steel plates which go underneath the coils (all bought from AxesRus in UK. See also Cermag for firebird magnets in A2/3/4/5).
