Hi! I'm new here. I'm a tech for a speaker repair company in Tucson, AZ. Rotting on our back shelves is a whole bunch of winding equipment, including mandrells, wire, collars etc for making voice coils for speakers. I have no clue how to use this equipment, and cannot find manuals for love or money. I thought I'd ask for help. I might even be open to selling some or all of it. Anyway, heres a partial list: Bae Yon BY-87-CNC Voice Winder complete with all accessories, REA Model WS4560-6 with Veeder Root counter and a Carpenter mfg Twincone wire stripper model 88E. Plus, assorted stepper motors and controllers. Anyone with any knowledge of this equipment living in the Tucson AZ area is more than welcome to come over and play with it. I would love to learn to wind voice coils as we have lots of special needs when it comes to repairing speakers. We currenltly sell diaphrams and recone kits. I have attached a few pics. Any advice, help greatly appreciated.

Interesting shelf full of stuff there, have you plugged any of it in yet? Blow the dust off it and see what works. The Baeyonby 87 cnc looks like the one to focus on. I'd look around on the web for a manufacturer and see if you can download or buy a manual for it. I'll bet you could figure most of it out w/o the booklet.
Any of that stuff could be used to make a pickup winder. The wire stripper is very nice for stripping fine magnet wire.
I'd call around to speaker makers/ repair places to find someone who can tell you about winding voice coils. There's probably a book for that as well.

They still make and sell the Bae Yon. I have contacted several companies on the web trying to locate the manuals and have not received any feedback.
Right now I am still making an inventory. There are boxes and boxes of wire, collars, mandrels, plastic sheets, tensioners and odd looking parts. The previous owner was obviously going to start making coils. He, unfortunately died of brain cancer last week. We took over the company from him in April.
The Baeyon has a 220v plug. Everything else I haven't tried.

Do you have any parts for a George Stevens 225 winding machine? I am looking for cams and gears. I bought one from David King (Thank you, David) I am very happy with and have actually wound a sample coil as it is. I am still looking to buy more cams and gears if any one knows of any. We have two customers that are still using the universal type winding and would like us to produce some coils for them.
Let me know.
