  • Android for winds counter

I know if I bought a board from Aurdino (sp) I could do this, but does anyone have any experience using a simple reed switch and possible a claculator or a simple interface to count winds on an Android based device?

I've done a small amount of programming in the past, but mostly I'm an admin who scripts whatever I can. Google has an app inventor app that allows simple apps to be created, but I'm thinking this might be beyond the scope of it.

I have an android tablet with honeycomb 3.1.

I was hoping to eventually use it as a gaussmeter also.

You can buy a real counter for cheap on eBay. Why go through the trouble?

Check out the CNC winder thread for an Aurdino style winder.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
