Firstly let me preface this by saying that I don't have access to machining equipment to get a "real" mounting plate made. I needed to make a relatively light-weight mount for my small motor winders.
Heres what I did... grab a bunch of old CDs that you don't mind destroying.
Make an outline of the bobbin on 2 of them (it's easy to center using a CD case) and cut out the CDs so you have holes in the shape of the bobbin you are using. It needs to have a small margin, but the bobbin should fit "snuggly" into the hole.
Use super-glue to glue the CDs together. Note: I actually split one of the CDs into it's 2 layers and just used these, so it's 1.5 CDs thick which matches my bobbins thickness nicely.
Next glue 2 more CDs to the bottom of these. This is your platter.
Placing a bobbin onto the platter mark the holes where the magnets would go. Drill out 2 or more of these (I just did the outer 2 poles) using a 5mm drill bit.
Into these holes you can place a couple of AlNiCo mags. Glue in if they are shifting around.
Next attach a mounting piece to mount to your motor and you are done
The bobbins will sit pretty flush and stay on pretty firmly. Furthermore, they won't twist or move if you are applying alot of tension to the wire.
