  • number of spires for hofner guitar humbucker

Hi evryone, I have to rewind a hofner guitar staple humbucker from late sixties using AWG 42 polysol. Does anyone know how many spires each bobbin and how many kOhm should the multimeter show at the end? One of the two bobbins, still original and not interrupted, shows 3,75 kOhm. A similar pickup that has been rewinded by someone else, who's very expert, shows something more than 8 Kohm (in total). Thanks! Gianni from northern Italy.

Not sure what hofner humbucker you have.
    I found this.
Mojo Pickups: Mojo Pickups - Another Hofner Rewind

    Guitar humbuckers in general.
    For gibsonish tones?
    Neck 4400-5000 turns.
    Bridge 5000 plus turns.
I wouldn't worry about the DCR, that much.
Maybe someone with vintage hofner experience will chime in!

Thanks Terry, my pickup is similar to those of mojo pickup, I like that guy for attention to particulars (the color of the tape!). If anyone else knows about those old hofner (mine is galaxie 176) please write something!
