  • MWS heavy formvar

    hi everybod,
recently I've purchased two spools of MWS heavy formvar. one is marked 42T, that's awg 42 triple insulation.
the other is marked 42Q and I have no idea what this means. anyone any idea?
    thanks.
    chr.

should have started thinking before writing.
it's quadruple insulation. didn't even imagine that this would exist.

Frequently Asked Questions - MWS Wire - Magnet Wire, Speciality Wire

There are four different builds: single, heavy, triple, and quadruple
looks like you might have a spool each of Triple and a spool of Quadruple insulated wire.

yes, that's correct. have re-wound a number of 60' and 70' stratpickups to the full satisfaction of the customer with the triple wire so far.
could get up to 7500 turns on a grey bottom bobbin. didn't try the quadruple wire so far, maybe it's difficult to get enough copper on a bobbin?
      anyone ever used that stuff?
