Bass pickup magnets and G&L Mfd

I am planing to make Ken smith style 5 and 6 string bass pickups with adjustable polepieces. Here in Turkey I could not find a long ceramic bar magnet enough for 5 and 6 string basses. And ordering from china costs more than $90 because the minimum order quantity is 100 pieces. Any suggestions on the design with adjustable polepieces?


Also I would like to try the threaded inserts like the G&L MFD pickups. But here in Turkey the inserts I have found are brass, so I thought that wont be good for magnetic field. Any sources for the threaded inserts?

you can easily shorten these mags with a plier to get the desired lenght by adding as much parts as you need. you can also add these mags side by side to get the desired thickness
if you are a little flexible with the measures / aperture.
