  • Vibro Champ electro capacitor value question

    Good day all!

Looking to replace the PCB electro caps in a Fender Vibro Champ. Values installed are 25uF/50V. I happen to have some Sprauge 30uF/40V on hand. Does anyone see an issue with using them in this circuit? Mostly concerned about the 10V difference.

    That should be fine.

Which Vibro Champ? AA764? AB764? Vibro Champ XD? 68 Custom Vibro Champ?

Blackface Vibro Champ. Tube chart and a lot of the identifiers are long gone. 99% sure this is an AA764.

Ok, when you said PCB in the first post I was expecting one of the recent models. Eyelet board would be more clear.
So those capacitors would be cathode bypass, there'll only be a few volts across them, 40V replacements will be fine.

Sorry... got my lingo mixed up. It's definitely eyelet board.

Good looking out Greg. I did assume the PCB/eyelet board error. I guessed correctly but it was probably too casual to do so.
