  • Multimeter repairs

didn't know where else to post this. My wavetek multimeter no longer reads DCma. I replaced the fuse for it and still no worky. My question is does anyone know where to have this fixed and is it worth it... or do most people just buy new ones. This is the Meterman 25xt. I paid around $100-150 for it a few years ago.

Is there more than one fuse? My FLuke has two for example.

Otherwise, I'd start by asking Wavetek about repairs. DO they? WHat cost?
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

unfortunately Fluke said they do not repair the 25xt but would replace w/ new version for $75. I'll go w/ the Rat Shack $20.

I would open it up and look for a possible burned trace - maybe the fuse didn't quite work fast enough.

Then again it may have a multi-layer PCB so there could be trouble inside the board where you can't see it.

          Good luck!
