  • 9V adapter current question

    Greetings,

I have a Roland TR-626 Rhythym Composer that has the adapter input labled as PSA 9V 50mA. After a fruitless google search, I wonder, if a 200mA adapter was used, would it "force" 200mA to the unit or is this just the maximum the adapter can produce and it will only send as much current as the unit draws?
I haven't used this unit for several years but now have a need of it.

It has a compartment for 6 AA cells which would be great but, unfortunately, it quit working off batteries a year or so after I bought it.

    Thanks,
    Willy

Yes, it will only 'send' what the device draws. But you dont want to use a 50ma adapter for a device that draws 200ma for example.
