Hey Tech Guys from the sunny south. (Catawba SC)(30 miles south of Charlotte NC) I'm getting back into repairing gear and guitars. I used to do it when classic rock was yet to be written.
Friends and broken stuff keep stopping by so I may as well earn some beer money.
There's great reading and info here so I may need you guys input from time to time since I wasn't that good at it then.

Other than urging me to change my mind. What is your best advice for a new shop guy?

    Welcome Benny.

The main thing to remember is that a lot of the stuff that you'll see now is not made as well as the stuff that was made back in the day. In fact some of it really wasn't designed to be repaired, just disposed of.

That being said I'd guess that 75% of all the repairs will be simple things, 20% harder repairs, and 5% don't bothers.

    Again welcome.
