help mackie satallite audio interface hum noise

I've got a mackie satallite firewire audio interface and although the general sound is acceptable for recording there is an always present hum+slight whine (mostly hum) heard through the monitor (phones) and ends up on recording as well.
Too high a voltage on the preamps?

Could I change/increase B+ caps to to reduce this?
