Im working on a Peavey XR600F and have a bad OpAmp with the numbers "2068806". Anybody know what this crosses with?

Going through the parts list for an XR600F, I see 22 4560's and 7 4580's in the preamp.
2 LM 3088's and 3 4560's in the 400SC Output board. I would guess someone put a 2068 in place of
one of these. I don't get to this forum often so I'm not going to ask any specifics like reference designator, is it on the preamp or output board, because when I respond by Christmas it'll be a moot point.
That scribed, I'm sure answers to these question can help someone else help you.

As he said, a 2068 is just another dual op amp. 4560, 4580, even 5532 or TL072 would work there.
To make it easier to search, add the prefix NJM, so NJM2068, and look that up at Mouser. They come in all the common package types.
The 806 part is a date code - when the IC was made.
If you don;t have the schematic, contact customer service at Peavey and get it. Then look up what the part was originally, and just install one of that.
In common basic stuff like our PA mixers, most dual op amp types will substitute for one another just fine.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.Comment
