  • Image IM-450 Low Impedance Microphone

    Checking an Image IM-450 Low Imp Uni-Directional mic for a friend with no output. He uses it to mic his lead guitar amp.

    Across 2 XLR pins I get 54 Ohms when ON, and 0 across them when OFF. Other pin goes to case.

    He has used it for years... Looks like the coil is o.k. ?? Do these go bad in other ways ??

    Thanks for any help available.

    Open it up and look. Good chance it has a small transformer in it, and perhaps the leads to the mic capsule have broken free.

      o.k., I got it apart and all of the wiring is intact. I may try to rework all of the wire to solder points (XLR & mic element)
