  • Tel-Ray Morley Volume Pedal--minimum series resistance?

A client asked me to check his vintage Morley volume pedal to see what the actual series resistance is between the signal in and signal out when the pedal is all the way down.

I measured 7.3k Ohms. Is that about right? I wouldn't think that would matter much unless the next device he's running it into has a low input impedance.

I have no idea what's normal for these things.

What good is a series resistance reading without also knowing any shunt resistances? Most volume controls are not just a series resistance that varies, they are a voltage divider, and that means at least two resistances.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
