SOme advice from a tired old tech. Make it work first, THEN start to make your modifications.

Oh absolutely, or at least that's the plan. Though if i don't manage to get oscillator 1 working for some reason the filter knob mods would still be worth doing.

I've got the chip socket in now which was actually more trouble than i was expecting. I've never had to remove a chip from anything other than stripboard so i was worried about ruining the PCB. Also once i'd got it in i realised that some of the component side PCB tracks hadn't connected and the socket was covering them over so i had to bridge them on back. Everything checks out okay, but i'm still waiting for my IC's to arrive. Should have ordered them earlier.

Yes! Result! I got it working!

....well i got it working eventually. When i first stuck the op-amp in the oscillator was still inaudible which i eventually realised was due to the fact that one of the jumpers i had to add in was in the wrong place. I quickly sorted that out though and now it sounds great! I can finally have a listen to what the factory presets sound like.

Poly800 mods next then and perhaps i'll have a go at my wonky microKorg. Should be fun.

        Thanks for everyones advice!
