Can anyone tell me which diodes i could use to create a rectifier to replace a rectifier package gone bad? The rectifier is a KBU800 rated 8A.

They don't make many single diodes in an 8 amp rating. The ones that do exist are mostly ultrafast ones in TO220, and need bolted to a heatsink to achieve the 8 amp rating.
So, your best bet is just to buy another rectifier."Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
