  • 6" speaker for Simmons crum monitor

    Hello folks...Uh...that's DRUM monitor :-[

I am in need of the 6" 'woofer' for a Simmons DA200S drum monitor. they're really nothing too special except because they are so insignificant, all the commonly available speakers are way too powerful, heavy, and typically not 4 ohm.

The Manufacturer indicates they don't sell individual speakers for their amps.

Find attached pic (freeze spray can in pic for frame of reference). The label on the back of the speak indicates 4ohms, 30watts, 60-8Khz, 1" Voice coil, res freq 140hz.

I can't find even a cheapo Jensen that will fit this bill as their 6" speak is 15 watts, tho the 30 this claims may well be a music source max rating.

any ideas of even what company I might contact for this little guy...thanx, glen

It's just a very generic, very cheap speaker.
The Eminence suggested by Regis is a *much* better speaker, can't go wrong with this.
By the way, Regis, how's life going on ?

        Thanx guys.
I did see this one, but thought it might be a bit too much for the amp. The original speaks have a depth of 2.5"...the Biggest issue is the depth available for the speaker to fit is just over 2.8". This eminence speaker at 2.8" would either just fit or possibly need to have a circular spacer added behind it to have it clear...still we'll probably try it...Thanx, glen

Go to Parts Express. They have an ample assortment of such speaker types.

JM, I have to wear a wraparound brace ( The guys at work call it a girdle) to keep my guts in where they removed all my "parts". Without it gets real sore and even painful if I do even normal things. I have no ribs or even the implant anymore to keep everything in place so it droops and sags. The doctors say to give it a year and see how it does. I do ok most of the time but it's annoying. I pray I don't have to wear this thing for the rest of my life.

              Oh.
I sort of imagined some of that, specially the "suspension" part.
              Oh well.
I know ladies who want to look younger than what their ID says, can have a net of thin "nylon" or similar stuff surgically implanted under the skin.
*Maybe* a heavier duty version can be made for you.
              Just thinking aloud.
