  • The bugger will not work!!! ( but i know its user error )

    Hi all,

New user to this forum and hoping you guys can help!!!!

I have a Fatar Studio 900 and a Korg 05R/W Nice simple setup!!!

The problem i have is the sustain pedal will not work with the setup!!! It has previously worked.. We moved house set it back up and nothing...

When i pull the sustain cable out the sustain remains on an infinate!

    i have tried

    1) Changing polaritys on foot pedal
    2) Starting fatar with pedal depressed and released.
    3) Resetting Korg O5R/W
    4) Cganging parameters on Korg 05RW i.e gobal midid ctrl enabled
    5) Shouting it it
    6) threatening with hammer.

I am all out of ideas..

Dont think im gonna get this one sorted but who knows!!!!

    Your help would be appreciated!!!

How about the sustain pedal jack itself?

One of THE most common repairs I do on keyboards is resoldering the jacks along the back.

And the two keyboards, try connecting only one board up at a time. Does the sustain not work on BOTH boards independently? I mean if you use ONLY the Fatar, the sustain is bad, and then if you use ONLY the Korg, also dead? Or only when both are connected? I am wondering if some sort of MIDI interaction might be happening.

      Thanks for replying!!!

didnt see the reply earlier thanks...

the FATAR is a motherboard only and the korg 05 does not have a sustain port!!!

I have tried another pedal and its the exact same thing... ( i have tried the pedals on a different keyboard and it is fine!!! )

So it MUST be either a MIDI problem or Sustain jack!!!

Looks like id better open it up!!!!

      any further ideas????

Further? No, not until we have checked out the jack.
