A lot of funny stuff shows up in silicone as well. Well at least old silicon, several of the old UV eproms and such had interesting things wrote / etched in the silicone.
And somwhere i have a wafer disk of some older processor that had something funny in it. all of this required a microscope to see but its there.
I do a little something with every PCB I design for work. I at least put my name in one of the layers and my initials on the top layer and have it silked.
