Splitting The Duncan SM-3 Minibucker?

It has four wires and I've seen some interwebz folklore on splitting these that they are in the ballpark of a charlie Christian as a single. When you think about it, there's a little logic to it....blade single, low output. Obviously, the wire guage and magnet setup is different, but it might be in the ballpark.

Anyone ever split an SM-3? Results?
