    Hey Guys,
I have what should be a simple question but I am having difficulty explaining it, otherwise I would have used the search function incase someone has had the same question. So, hopefully I do not offend anyone asking the question.

I purchased a couple cheap(seismic audio) 18" powered sub's. One did not work, but the other worked fine. They have pretty cheap amps in them, so I want to make them both passive. I have an amp I want to bridge and run both in a daisy chain. (I think that is referred as series). I'm going to pull the amps out and just put some quarter inch jacks for in's. On one of the speakers I will need an out (to run to the other speaker)......How do I wire this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Series circuit.
    Non bridged.
    Amp + to speaker #1 +.
    Speaker #1 - to speaker #2 +.
    Speaker #2 - to amp-.
This is how you wire the speakers.
    A bridged amp is usually connected to + +. (the speakers + & -)
    Consult the manufacturers instructions.
If it was mine to do I would use Neutrix connectors.
1/4" jacks/plugs for speakers are sucky.

Yes, you are correct. When I have bridged the amp to run monitors, I go with (++) from the amp using one speaker cable to the 1/4" jack on one of the monitors. I then plug a second speaker cable into the other 1/4" jack (from the same monitor) and run to the second monitor(it also has a second jack if I wanted to hook up another speaker).

I guess what I'm asking is how to wire the 2 female connections so it will do what I described above. I may have to take apart the monitors and see how they are done. I want to run the subs the same way. One speaker cable to one sub, then another speaker wire to the second sub.

      AMP-----------------SUB-----------------SUB

      Am I explaining myself correctly?

It's simple, the corresponding terminals of the two jack sockets are just wired together. Tip to tip, ring to ring. Then a further pair of wires comes off that to the speaker.

The speakers will end up in parallel, so find out the impedance of the speakers and make sure your amp can handle half of that impedance in bridged mode. If it can't, just take it out of bridged mode and connect one speaker to each channel.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
