    Replace it or leave it in?
    Yes, the device (guitar wah pedal) is giving me problems, but there's no point in replacing stuff that's not suspect.

    Your opinions are much appreciated.

    From the photo, I don't think there's any indication that it has degraded; the 'blobby' connection probably looked like that when it was made. Electrolytics will generally leak from the seal at the positive end cap.

      Then again, that's such an easy thing to replace while it's apart...why not? Especially, if it's got any age at all on it. Just buy a decent-quality one. If it changes things in a negative way...you can always swap it back. Just be careful with the heat. That blob DOES look kind of strange, but it may not affect anything. Out of curiosity...what brand of cap is that?

        Just did the repair and a faulty TL072 op amp turned out to be the problem, not this capacitor. The cap is a GEMCON that's in my Morley wah.

        BTW, I feel obliged to point out that Morley has been very helpful in offering advice on my DIY fix of this old wah that has been discontinued quite a while back.
