  • Mackie Th12a

    Hey all,

Im working on a Mackie Th 12a (thump). The resistor r4 connecting jr2 (xlr jack) to J1 is fried. If youve got the schematic its on the TH-12A AMP SCHEMATIC 0021633-XX-E09-SCH page. Its just a 100 ohm resistor. Does it have a specific function and need to be replaced?? Or can I just run a wire connecting the two solder pads.

    Thanks,

    Lowell

I had a TH 15 that had the same resistor blown.
    WTF.
Customer said he had a 'bad' cord that went to another TH.
I would replace the resistor for the simple fact that it was there.
Maybe someone more knowledgable can chime in on the purpose of the resistor & the capacitor.

STick any 100 ohm you got in there and call it a day. You want to short across it during tests, go ahead. FInd out any other problems, but I;d replace it eventually.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

        Resistors R1 and R4 together with capacitors C4, C9, C10, C94 and C95
are simple low pass filters reducing frequencies above 20KHz.

BTW, sometime these resistors (when enlarge their value due to ESD or
another problems) may be a source of noise.
