I recently bought a second-hand DDX3216 who's work fine except one amazing problem:
There is some buttons like FILES,MMC/MIDI who's don't works.... no action when push it! led include on the button not lite on.
All over function working good but i can't enter for example, in file menu, to configure RS232 (OR midi menu for the MMC/MIDI button)
I read the big and interresting Thread about this console on this wonderfull site, and i found schematic. This help me to more investigate my problem:
The switchs are the CTRL03 board and are named S27 and S28. They're working very well (0 ohms when pushed). On IC7 (74HCT165) pins 5 or 6, i can see 5V when button is Off and 0V when pushing the button => so it's seem to be right.
I can see that others switch who's wired to the same IC are working well. So i assume that after the switch action is serialized on DS1 line by the 74HC165, all electronics behind (who use this line) work fine? So if i precise: not all off the 8 switch serialized by this IC are hs, so i think that the problem is not in the use of the serialized signal DS1. For example S32 (SETUP recording automation) work normaly when i push it.
To be complete, there is no change on LCD screen when i push these 5 buttons : FILES, MMC/MIDI,RECORD,PLAY,RELATIVE
Other than all the rest works fine!!
I don't think that there is only 5 inputs of the 8 on IC7 who's die? I ever see a IC who's working partially...
I'm successfully realise a factory reset and a firmware update (via midi because i cannot configure serial ... off course), but the pb is the same.
These buttons are not very important in a normal use of the console... but i want to understand... If you have any ideas?
