my yamaha emx 5000 powered mixer is making a noise that sounds like speaker is cracklin when singing through mike its not the speakers tried another one still did it. need some info what could be the cause. thanks

What to look for?
Cabling, power, input, then on to components.You already ruled out the speakers.

Try to connect a line input to the power amp input jacks on the rear, do you still get the noise ?
If you connect Stereo outs to another power amp, do you still get the noise ?
Just trying to find if the noise if in the preamp, or power amp sections.....
