  • Carlsbro Marlin 6-150 Mk 2 Amp

Have an old amp (6 input) but the problem we are having is that it fades out and back in again. Luckily we can keep time until it returns. Is this a generic problem with this type of amp or something specific? Shame really as the sound is great and it takes all 6 inputs we use. Hope someone can shed some light on this problem. Thanks

Take a spare cord and plug it from the FX send jack to the FX return jack. ANy help?
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Thanks Enzo. Will try that. We thought it might be an over-heating problem, but there's no fan. Looks like a heat exchanger system. Opened the amp up and everything seems fine to an 'uneducated eye'.

Enzo. When we opened it up there were a few resistors/transistors/diodes (whatever they are) touching each other. Probably due to knocks the amp took over the years. Straightened them up very carefully and put the amp back together again. Tries the amp yesterday with 2 guitars and drum machine and it didn't fade in the 2 hours we used it for. Call me a genius or what. Didn't need to try your solution but will bear it in mind if this happens again. Thanks for your time and suggestion anyway. Keith
