    If this helps:

An adaptor or power supply is described by what it puts out, not what it runs from. SO a power adaptor that plugs into the wall RUNS off the AC voltage in the wall, but it produces DC, and so it is a DC adaptor. WHile it would be correct to say that the unit runs off the AC in the wall outlet ultimately, the unit indeed actually runs on the 9vDC. So I think the terminology was confusing as some of us thought it meant one thing and others thought it meant something else.

So if your pedal already has a power jack for a 9v adaptor, it is already set. INstead of plugging a wall wart adaptor into it, you can plug the power cord jumper from your pedal board into it.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

      ACA/PSA:

Boss ACA & PSA ? what gives?

All of my 11 various "ACA only" Japanese Boss pedals work fine (bright LED, sounds good) WHEN connected to at least one other 9VDC (non-ACA) pedal (any brand, including Boss PSA) that is connected by signal-cable AND with a Visual Sound 1-Spot 9VDC supply.

The LEDs will be either dim or not light, and effect will be weak or non-existent (depending on pedal), when the 9VDC 1-Spot is plugged into ONLY an ACA Boss pedal, and nothing else.

The short answer here is to replace D1 and R1 with jumpers and the pedal will work with a PSA adapter.

The correct answer is that the pedal adapter ACA is not an ac source, but is an unregulated 12dc source. The diode and resistor combination limits and reduces the voltage from the 12 volt adapter and must be removed for the pedal to work with the regulated 9vdc output of the PSA adapter.
