I use Mouser, Allied, Antique Electronics Supply, Hoffman Amps, and Eurotubes the most, but have use many of these retailers. Depending on what you're specifically looking for, any of these could be "the best".

Digikey.com is good.
I recently found out partsexpress.com has a lot of stuff I never realized they had, too. (They sent me a big catalog with an order. I never realized they sold pro audio gear; I got the impression they were mostly for home speaker builders)
For connectors, samtec.com is great!

For germanium transistors, try the Eastern European sellers on eBay or direct because some of those transistors are still being made. I have a whole draw full of them I bought new at various times. Beta varies a lot with any germanium transistors so get a few and test them for Beta that is best for your design. I pay about 4-6 rubles for new stock which is $0.12-0.18 each.
