  • Battery Powered LED Lights

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, but you seem like a very informed group and I'm hoping you can help me... I have an LED controller that responds to music. Pretty simple: you plug the controller into the wall (DC12-24V), plug the LED lights into the controller, and place a speaker next to the controller. I really need to make this unit mobile, and I am very new to the maker/DIY thing. Is there a portable battery pack that can power this rather than plugging it into the wall?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

You mean into a 12/24V power supply which is plugged into the wall?
IŽd make a proper cable and connect it to a 12V battery.
    Remember to properly fuse it.

One issue will be power consumption, to calculate battery life.

There should be a rating plate on the mains unit which will show the power consumption. Maybe even the output current and voltage. Post back what it says, or upload a pic, as well as the make and model of the rig.
