  • Beyerdynamic parts

Hi there I need a mic capsule for a Beyerdynamic Opus 99 kik mic that I currently have on my bench. Can anyone point me in the right direction to finding one please?

I have the NZ distributor and he said it would take close to 7 weeks to get one in!
I don't want my customer to wait that long if I can help it so I thought I could email Beyerdynamic directly but from previous experience with other companies I'm pretty sure that they would just refer me to the NZ guy.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Cheers,

    Trevor

      Here is the datasheet: http://recordinghacks.com/pdf/beyerd...pus99_DB_E.pdf

Have you verified the coil to be bad?

Note: the 50 views are mostly from 'Bot Crawlers'.

Agree, those views are mainly robots. However, I saw your post and decided that "I have no idea" would not be very helpful, so I didn;t post.

from previous experience with other companies I'm pretty sure that they would just refer me to the NZ guy.
        Talk about your self-fulfilling prophecy...

Never think up reasons not to check something. For every Behringer or Nady or Line 6 who will never send out schematics or anything else, there is a company like Peavey who will bend over backwards to get you whatever you need for support. What one company does is not what a different company foes, much of th time.

Contact them and ask. They may have options. In your first contact tell them your customer (always mention something belongs to a customer) is a working pro and the local distributor quoted a 7 week order time, and might they be able to help more timely? And ask if they cannot help directly, would there be a way to order through your distributor but have it drop shipped by air to you. At worst they say no, at best they can help.

Now I do not know this for a fact, but looking at the data sheet, I see offices in the USA, UK, and of course Germany. So I assume the NZ guy is just a distributor or even a jobber. (middleman) That MIGHT make it possible to go around him.

Hi and thanks for your response and link Jazz P Bass.
Yes I tested and got open circuit between coil (spider wires) wires. I don't normally fix things like this
but it's just an ohms test on this situation right?

I know it sounds silly me asking rather than doing...just thought someone here
might in direct contact our know where to find the replacement quicker than I have access
          to here.
I didn't know about the bot crawlers...sorry if my comment offended anyone.

          Cheers,
          Trevor
