  • Jazz Chorus reverb tank label

I'm fixing an old Roland Jazz Chorus 120 amp and I found a very nice label on the reverb tank ("Beautiful girls at Milton Wisconsin"). Have you seen it?

Not only beautiful girls but in a controlled atmosphere, whatever they mean by that. Maybe the workshop was heated and air conditioned appropriate to the season? Whatever, it puts a smile on my face every time, and I think that's exactly what it was intended to do. Techs need a lift sometimes, they knew it.

Sent from my uncontrolled atmosphere with no beautiful girls LG

And think about what it must have done for the morale of the girls in the shop.

I remember first seeing those tanks/labels in the mid to late seventies on Musicman amps. Didn't think much of the folded Z line back then. But when they are driven correctly, they can sound very good.

I think that means they were allowed to smoke.

So these pans were made by SMOKIN' women...

On the other hand I find a cigarette on a woman less than attractive. Oh good, she will smell bad.

If they were allowed to smoke, the atmosphere would be out of control. But that's the way things used to be. Practically everybody had a butt lit during all waking hours. Even the woman who was my violin teacher when I was 9 years old. She could play violin sweet as could be but I'd gag my way out of that room after half an hour's lesson. Yecccchhh. Glad that's over. I didn't learn much from Mrs. Kay, I was more in a rush to get out of there into clear air. To this day, when I see a woman light up tobacco, it's over before it starts no matter how attractive she may be. Good way to keep ol' LG at bay. I'm way with Enzo on this. put fist bump smiley thing here.
