A puny TO92 preamp type Fet can not be asked to deliver power, I'm amazed it lasted more than a few seconds.
To boot, they expect an enhancement Mosfet , not a depletion Fet, almost the opposite.

Explore the bipolar option if you don't have time to mail order.

Didn't read all the datasheet, but I guess a PNP Darlington could both handle current and be easy to drive.

A TIP 142 would probably work but too large, doubt you have the smaller TO220 brothers (TIP12x) but you could kludge one out of a TIP32 and some TO92 transistor driving it as Darlington.

Not the best technically but something you very probably have in your parts bin.

well i ended up buying the right part

i replace DSP chip and main processor, it works like a charm in the first power up. just one issue... i got no sound!!!
So im trying to test the CODEC chip (AK4522) i got nothing on the stereo analog output. im wondering how to test this device properly...

i got the 5vdc getting to it
the mute pin is low 5 sec after power up
i have like 3vdc constant on the two outputs

      any help?

      cheers!

In my opinion. if you have signal going In and all of the supply & mute pins are satisfied, if you have no output, then the IC is bad.

3Vdc on the output pins does not sound correct.

Yep, i think thats it, listening with a signal tracer, on the inputs i can hear the digital signal from the dsp, so probably the converter is bad. Is strange that the 3.3v rail fail not the 5v, but who knows what the dsp put into the converter when it burn out.
