  • Yamaha Powered Monitor what is this part?

I'm working on a Yamaha A4115H powered speaker from about the mid 70's. There are a few components inside that I can not identify. They look like tiny sand resistors marked with the prefix HW then a number like 21339 and "Micron". One has a snapped lead and needs to be replaced (HW-20522). Identification is marked on the board for most of the parts but the part looks very different than the other HW-20522's on the board (must have been replaced). I'm not sure what is wrong with this unit yet as I need to secure a few loose connections before plugging it in to my dim bulb tester.

any help on what these parts are would be greatly appreciated.

They are fusible resistors. The values would have to be looked up, and I don't have the 4115 in my files.

You can call Yamaha parts and ask them to identify the parts. Or bite the bullet and order the service manual.

The lead may be snapped off, but can you get a meter probe against the stub?

But if the rest of them on the board are replacements, what did they use in its place? Seems that that would be a reasonable sub here too.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
