Hi, I have a peavey escort 2000 that has a problem in the power supply unit , symptoms are no power to the pre-amp slider control panel but power seems to be going through to main output stage, none of the cooling fans are operating. I have checked all transistors and diodes in power supply unit and seem ok. Just wondering if there is a common problem with this model and should i be looking at something more specific. Any ideas would be very much appreciated, (i'm new here so hope i'm in the right area) Thank you.

Welcome to the sight.
Please be aware that this unit uses a Switch Mode Power Supply.
They can be very dangerous to work on.
If the power LED comes on, then the +15Vdc supply is working.
What you need to verify is the -15Vdc supply.
Any opamp, pin #4, will be a test point.
The power supply will output + & - 34 volts dc.
This can be accessed on the power amp board.
From there the supply goes to two voltage regulators.
+15Vdc & -15Vdc.

As to the fans: the control for them is dependant on the output signal amplitude.
No output signal, no fan.
Unfortunately, Peavey chose to Not include the SMPS drawing in the schematic file.
You may have to contact them for it.
