I remember the first time I saw one of these, it must have been 25 years ago. It could only be programmed to say one short phrase and it must have cost nearly $100. There was a cable that connected the display to the battery/controller pack which was about the size of a cigarette pack.

I'd be tempted to buy them and mount one into the front control panel of an amp with all sorts of phrases scrolling through. You know like "This guy can really play!" or "Turn me up to ten and stand back"
