  • Fatar studio 90 plus midi NOT WORKING? HELP!

    Hi.
I have a Fatar studio 90 plus controller and had my power connection fixed, which I needed, but when I midi it to my modules they did not see the controller. One of the messages I received was Midi Connection Error.
Is there an easy way to fix this? Could it be the internal battery?

Any feedback would be very helpful.
    Thanks.

Measure the battery and find out.

Have you tried reinitializing the unit? (restore factory settings)

Check the various channels are set up correctly for your rig. Try one MIDI cord to ONE noise box. I don;t know all the system you have, but try disabling any handshaking to see what happens.

In keyboards, the battery holds all your programmed settings when power is off. But once you power up, any settings you make should stay until power down.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Hey Enzo, thanks for getting back to me.
I opened the keyboard but I don't know what the battery looks like? So I'm not sure how to measure the battery. Can the battery be replaced ?

Also can you tell me how to restore factory settings? I'm looking for my manual but I haven't found it yet.
      Thanks.

The battery is about the size of a US quarter.

It is soldered in to the board.

This is a picture of the battery. I really don't know but is this soldered on or is there a clip holding it in place?

            That is it.

And, yes, it is soldered in.

            Measure the voltage on it.
            The top is +.
Ground is the frame of the unit.

            3.3Vdc is a good battery.

Hey Enzo and Jazz P Bass, I found the problem. Before dealing with the battery I tried What Enzo said earlier about trying to restore to factory settings and it worked! Hallelujah! I'm happy I didn't have to deal with the battery! The midi is working!

Thanks guys for all your help.
