  • Genz Benz GBE 600 Blown Fuses

Hey guys! I have recently been re-amping in the studio with a GBE 600. With that being said, I accidentally plugged one of the 1/4 cables into the footswitch input instead of the effects send input. When I turned the amp on, it made a distorted sound and then seems like it just blew. The lights wont turn on and I'm assuming a fuse is blown, but I'm not too familiar with the electronics side - could plugging into the footswitch really blow a fuse? Thanks for the help.

    "One of the 1/4" cables".

    Care to tell which cable?

Yup... It was a balanced cable coming from one of the outputs of my UA Apollo.

Which translated means you accidentally connected a balanced [TRS] cable from the [+4 dB line level] output of your audio interface to the footswitch jack on the GBE600? But your intention was to plug that cable into the EFFECTS LOOP RECEIVE [+4 dB line level] jack on the rear panel of the GBE 600?

That is an accurate translation, yes. I'm not 100% familiar on how to read the schematic properly, but I have looked at the manual and can't really find any info that answers my question (maybe I'm not looking at the right spot).. Does it sound accurate that the (+4dB line level) TRS would cause that issue just for being plugged into the Footswitch input?

You really do need to take it in to a tech.

There is not enough information available from the schematic to answer your questions.

The posted schematic is only the power amplifier.

Preamp & switching functions are not shown.
