    How bright are they anyway? ANy chance they are 6v lamps running on 3v for lower birghtness and longer life?

      No. I WISH! I experimented with THAT possibility by rigging up an abbreviated series string of 6V lamps on the bench, and the filaments were JUST glowing.

      This mixer has to go out, so I will nail something down this week. Looks like LED's lead the pack.
