I have an old Rockman X100 that Im fairly sure suffered a power surge that killed not only the wall wart but took out one channel and some of the other features. I kept it around, thinking someday I would be competent enough to fix it.
Schematics are starting to pop up on the web, and the board doesn't look nearly as intimidating as it did back in the day.
Anyway, I don't know where to get started. I have a functioning power supply, worried that powering up the unit might damage the PS. Is it OK to power it up and look for voltages at the IC's? I have a functioning unit so I have something to compare it with.
Thanks
