VERY COOL.....I'll have to follow the series. The photo of the Charge Pump circuit he cobbled together reminded me of one the chief engineers I worked under, later becoming a mentor.....he built circuits in free air to get an idea sounded out, and changed parts with it lit up (only 15V potentials, mind you), and it always fascinated me, plus never having had my hands touching live circuits, that sort of throttled my thinking....don't you get shocked doing that? Nah, not at these potentials and currents.
