  • Using in4007 in place of MB35

As the title suggests I'm wondering if I would run into any problems using a 4xIn4007 Bridge Rectifier in place of an SWR 350's stock rectifier, the MB35.

    The MB35 is listed as:
    Current: 25A
    Peak Reverse Voltage: 400V

IN4007 has a Peak Reverse of up to 1k, but the information I found lists it's average current output at 1A, much lower than 25.

So this means we can't use it for this application? Is it as simple as a differently rated diode being used inside?

Yes, a 1N4007 is hopelessly inadequate for this application, need something much beefier.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure why

On the bright side, there´s a ton of high current suitable rectifiers out there, as in Mouser.
