Just got this from Line 6
Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc., (“YGG”), in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is providing a corrective action for its Line 6 Relay G10, G10S, and G10T Family of Products, and for its Line 6 Relay G10T USB Charging Cable used to charge the G10 transmitter. The lithium-ion battery used with the Line 6 G10T charger can overheat in certain rare situations, allowing pressure to build up. This pressure build-up can cause the battery cover to separate forcibly with the potential for injury and property damage.
YGG is also recalling the Line 6 Relay G10T USB Charging Cable, because it can apply too much current to the transmitter which can cause the battery to overheat and cannot be repaired.
Consumers are advised to stop using the Line 6 G10, G10S, G10T and G10T USB Charging Cable products immediately until they have taken the actions below.
G10, G10S AND G10T TRANSMITTER
YGG is providing a Firmware Update for the G10, G10S and G10T Family of Products to address the issue of the lithium-ion battery overheating. Although worldwide there have been only four reported incidents of the battery cover separating forcefully with only one report of property damage (the burning of an immediate area of carpet upon which a unit was charging and the blackening of an adjacent door), YGG is taking this action out of an abundance of caution to further help ensure the safety of its customers. There have been no reported injuries.
Consumers may register to receive the free firmware update by going to https://www.line6.com/g10recall or by calling 877-865-4636. Once you register you will receive instructions on how to download and activate the firmware update. This firmware update will reduce the charge the battery holds and therefore reduce the risk of overheating.
