I reassembled the Roland VS-840 and tested it..all of the pots work and it plays perfectly. I ran the full internal diagnostic program and it indicates that a few more of the tactile switches are failing and one or two of the rotary cue pots too. So, it's good news...and bad news...I know how to get it apart and reassemble it and I have a stash of the replacement parts so I will put it on my schedule. The sliding pot levers fit the knobs perfectly. So, a big "Thank You" to the folks who kept me from ordering a bunch of parts that would not fit. Also a big Thanks to the fellas who posted the information about how to disassemble, clean, inspect and rebuild the pots. For those of you thinking about repairing sliding pots, I highly recommend their websites.
