i was given a peavey m-2600, it worked fine then. it cut out like it normaly dose with the clip protect. but when came back on it just made a high to mid frequence noise that is not efected by the volume control. i thought it may be some kind of short but could see no obivous answer, could any one help is the tranformer broke cheer in advance x

Why does everyone think the transformers are the problem all the time?
This sounds like a thing to take to your tech. Doesn't sound like something to troubleshoot long distance. If nothing is loose in the connections, that is what I would do.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
