PAIA nostalgia - early 70s Thumpa Thumpa Box ?

I hope this is in the right forum - did anyone ever see or make one of these?

I've done a perf layout based on a schematic I found online, it was originally in Popular Electronics in Feb 1970 (designed by J S Simonton) and licensed by PAIA for one of their early kits?

I'm a bit of a primitivist, I like early drum machines and I think this could be fun, as well as easy to build.

Now I'm waiting for the UJTs I ordered from Banzai , and wondering what's in store for me.
Can anyone tell me what the 6 pots do?
Can the 'bass' and 'woodblock' sounds run at different tempos? That's what the blurb suggests - if the answer is yes I think I'm going to love it.

I am very excited by this project, even if nobody else is (story of my life).
The rates for bass and woodblock sounds are controlled individually, with a pan /balance pot between the 2 sounds and overall tempo control.

That Michael Holley SWTPC site is a great one, isn't it?

There are some fascinating reverb projects there as well as a number of other interesting audio projects from "the golden age" of hobby electronics.

Some of the articles are sort of goofy too, and quite entertaining. Those were different times.

Got my UJTs and built the TTB - of course it doesn't quite live up to the article blurb, but I'll definitely use it. Sending some photos to Mr Holley.

You just gotta love that vintage PAiA stuff! Real shame about John Simonton passing away. I had exchanged a few emails with him about a year before. Real nice guy.

I still have the very first issue of Polyphony. I'll have to scan that one day soon.
