  • ringing oscillators for drums

I've just built a electronic percussion box, from an ol indian, as in India, book and the sounds are really bad but it's got me thinking about doing something fuller. I've got the schematics for something alot more involved.

and I've also seen the page from Paia about their kit.

And I'd kinda like making things like this

Well kinda like that and I'm now ruing the day I chucked out the junked, but complete, farfisa I had out in the garage. So what I'm looking for is schematics for ringing oscillators for building up a set of drum tones.
Actually the one I have made which I'll copy out and post here has a really neat kinda cymbal sound which is an avalanching transistor amplified by another transistor with a 100mH inductor accross it. It's cool!

Have you checked out the schematics for the Roland 808? Most of its drum sounds are analog, IIRC, including that famous kick drum.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
