Is that domestic or imported asiago nevets? I recall a lot of honking and blowing especially in the last 2 years about placing tariffs on imported products from the EU, not only China. I'd expect an increase in prices of cheese, wine, Alfa Romeos etc. If it's domestic, could have to do with scarcity of labor because of 1: covid panic and/or b) deportation of immigrant workers.

If the above isn't scary enough, have a listen to this report on international devaluation of the U.S. dollar, a whopping 5% loss within the last month. Unfortunately this report doesn't show up in text, you gotta listen. Here 'tis: https://www.marketplace.org/shows/ma...oyment-claims/

All I heard about Trader Joe names was their tortilla chips that are Trader Jose, would remain that way. Don't recall it going much deeper than that.

Milk has been REALLY cheap of late. Even chocolate milk has been under $2 a gallon. White milk $1.29

While I don't recall if the Asiago cheese was imported, seeing ALL of their cheese selections nearly double in price seems alarming. I haven't checked the local grocery stores to see if that's happening there as well.

All, maybe that's a California thing. Or maybe grocery stores figure they can do a little price gouging in the supposedly rich district you inhabit. My standard one pound block of NY cheddar - extra sharp of course - remains $4.59 at Hannaford's supermarket. They did tag on an extra 60 cents but that was last winter. Similar cheddar price at ShopRite. Let's see how prices do now the dollar's taken a 5% hit - should raise imported everything by a similar margin. Great...
